Course Introduction:

Working in a hospital involves interacting and communicating with various people. However, sometimes misunderstandings or other issues can lead to workplace violence. This course aims to help participants understand the causes, prevention methods, and basic handling techniques to reduce the likelihood of such incidents or the severity of injuries.

Course Objectives:

This course aims to help participants understand the reasons why violent incidents occur, how to reduce their likelihood, and what precautions to take if they do occur to minimize the chance of injury, through explanations, sharing of past events, role-playing, and demonstrations. 

Course Content:

1.           Understanding the definition and types of violence

2.           Understanding the causes, risk factors, and stages of violence (The Assault Cycle)

3.           Identifying early signs of violence (Early Warning Signs)

4.           Apply effective methods to mitigate and exacerbate the condition. (De-escalation) Techniques to reduce conflict

5.           Basic control points and safety matters
